Foreign Archaeology studies the following fields in-depth, Eurasian grassland archaeology, West Asian archaeology, and foreign archaeology theories. The current key research field of JLU is Eurasian grassland archaeology, with particular emphasis on a comparative study of archaeological materials in the frontier areas of Northern China, and Mongolia & Central Asia, as well as of ethnic relations of the two regions, from the Bronze Age to the early Iron Age.
